Installation Manual TWM Performance Short Shift Kit 1997-2001 Toyota Camry 1999-2003 Toyota Solara 1. Unscrew the shift knob and remove the boot. 2. 3. Unplug the lighter assembly from the bottom of the cover you just popped out. 4. Remove the 2 screws at the front of the console. 5. Remove the plastic cover in front of the handbrake. 6. Remove the rubber mat, and the two bolts in the storage compartment of the center console. 7. Unclip the plastic connector at the front of the console. 8. Carefully lift and remove the console from the car to allow access to the shift assembly. 9. Remove the clip on the left side of the assembly. 11. Insert a flat head screw driver behind the clip on the right front side of the assembly and pry the clip off. The clip may be broken in the process but a new one is included with the TWM shifter. 12. Use a punch to drive out the pin and remove the plastic side arm. Note the position of the spring before removal of the arm….
