The 2010 TL is a 4-door, 5-passenger luxury sedan, or luxury sports sedan, available in 8 trims, ranging from the 5-Spd AT to the 6-Spd MT SH-AWD w/Tech Package and HPT.

Upon introduction, the 5-Spd AT is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 280-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 26-mpg on the highway. A 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard. The 6-Spd MT SH-AWD w/Tech Package and HPT is equipped with a standard 3.7-liter, V6, 305-horsepower engine that achieves 17-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed manual transmission with overdrive is standard.

The fully independent, sport-tuned suspension features advanced damper valves and high roll stiffness for direct, linear response to driver input. Speed-sensitive steering is tuned to provide visceral feedback. Special ducts on the TL SH-AWD help cool the front brake discs for better fade resistance and more precise control. Keeping out unwanted interference from the conversation are chassis and engine mounts designed to isolate the cabin from vibrations without compromising handling or steering precision.
