With Super Handling All -Wheel Drive (SH-AWD), MDX expertly negotiates the elements by actively distributing power to the wheels that need it most. Transferring torque between the front and rear wheels, as well as between the left and right rear wheel, is crucial to enhancing traction and cornering stability. Benefits that can be enjoyed whether you’re taking on patches of snow or a series of S-curves. Unlike most competitive systems, SH-AWD can also send up to 100% of rear power to the wheel on the outside of the turn and increase its rotational speed for even tighter cornering. The result? An ability to track through curves with a precision unmatched by conventional all-wheel drive.

Few places are more demanding (or gratifying) than the legendary Nürburgring track. So the fact that Acura engineers spent weeks in Germany honing MDX’s edge should come as no surprise. What did raise eyebrows was the crisp, taut response from a 4-wheel independent suspension system, engineered to keep as much tire on the road as possible.

The available Sport package further strengthens this connection with the inclusion of Acura’s Active Damper System. Designed to deliver a comfortable ride under normal conditions, it instantly firms up the suspension when driving conditions require high-performance handling. Equally impressive is the response afforded by the vehicle’s torque-sensing power- assist steering system as well as an all-around maneuverability (courtesy of Acura’s exclusive SH-AWD) that gives MDX a distinguished sense of control.
